Plan Your Visit

When you have arrived in Reykjavík, Perlan is hard to miss. It is a huge glass dome structure that sits on top of a hill less than a kilometer away from downtown Reykjavík.

Getting there

Walking

There are a few paths that lead up to Perlan from the roots of Öskjuhlíð, the hill Perlan stands on. The most pretty one starts in front of Reykjavik Natura Hotel, and winds up the hill through the little forest. A similar path also starts at Reykjavik University.

The most direct path leads from the Vodafone stadium (large red building), where you can follow the hot water pipe pathway straight up the hill.

Finally there is a path that leads from the gas station at Bústaðavegur, beneath Perlan.

Bus

From Hlemmur bus stop you take bus number 18, which stops close to the Pearl. From there it is a couple of minutes’ walk up the hill.

Taxi

From any point downtown, you should be there in under 10 minutes, barring the afternoon traffic which can slow you down by a couple of minutes.

Private car

There are plenty of parking spaces available.
